A Little Humor

I was doing a little blog-surfing on this cold and snowy day (enough already!! bring on spring!!). I stole this from another blog. I though it was amusing...

Why Men are Never Depressed

Men Are Just Happier People. What do you expect from such simple creatures?

Your last name stays put.

The garage is all yours.

Wedding plans take care of themselves.

Chocolate is just another snack.

You can be President.

You can never be pregnant.

Car mechanics tell you the truth.

You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.

You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.

Same work, more pay.

Wrinkles add character.

Wedding dress $5000. – Tux rental-$100.

One mood all the time.

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.

You know stuff about tanks.

A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.

You can open all your own jars.

You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.

If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.

Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.

You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.

The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.

You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life.

One wallet and one color for all seasons.

You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.

You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife.

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

Spring = Flowers, Weddings and Babies

This last weekend Parley's sister's daughter got married. Sheri is awesome! She went on a mission to Thailand and can beat Parley at a game of pick-up basketball (even though in his mind he could still be a walk-on for the Jazz). She found her new husband Taylor (another Taylor in the family) at BYU Idaho and they are a great pair. They got married in Salt Lake but had the reception in Idaho. We went up for the reception and had a great time. We also got to see Stephanie's new baby (Parley's little sister). He's so cute. They are calling him Eph (short for Ephriam). Stephanie was up and at 'em at the reception and the baby was only 4 days old!

p.s. Julie, these pictures are for you since I know you really missed being there :)

Great Brain

Taylor did his second Great Brain project yesterday. Any guesses on what topic he did it on? You probably guessed right, it was on weather. He did some good weather experiments on evaporation, clouds and thunder. He did a great job!

p.s. My sister gwen's sister-in-law had this blog called "cute blogs" on her blog. It has cute templates on it.

Yikes - Only 6 More Weeks Until Swimsuit Season

I was watching Studio 5 (local show) the other day and they had this offer for a free 8 week trial to Podfitness. I drive by the building on my way to the gym but never really checked it out. It's pretty cool. You put in your info. what kind of training you want to do and they set up a personalized workout for you that you download on your ipod with your own music. I wasn't sure if I would like someone talking to me while I was on the treadmill, but it actually made the time go quicker and I think, made me workout harder. It's worth a look and it's free...

Memorial/Funeral Pictures

Friday night was the Memorial/Funeral for my Grandpa. He didn't really want a funeral so we had more of a "gathering." It was very nice. It was nice to have Gwen and her kids come up. It was a nice evening and emotionally it's nice to have it done. We hope he's now having a good time with all his friends and family on the other side. I'm sure he's got them all playing cards :)

We'll Miss Him

Last night my cute, little grandpa passed away. He was a great grandpa and a great-grandpa. He taught me how to pan for gold (I obviously didn't hit the mother load) and he taught me how to play a mean game of "Farkle" and also "Spite and Malice." We'll sure miss him and I can't wait to see him again someday (in the next life).
p.s. My sister Carrie (the one in the back on the left) is very creative and a great photographer. She got a great picture of my grandpa's hand and my dad's hands. It's a tearjerker. Check it out on her blog.

They Make Me Laugh

I know I will probably think this is more funny or cuter than most of you, but Taylor and Josh have both said things recently that made me laugh....

Taylor: "Mom, can you put neosporin on my knuckles. They are all cracked. Why is my pinky knuckle always cracked the worst?
Me: "I don't know why that happens."

Taylor: "Oh, well, I thought, like, maybe you would know because you, um, like, went to High School didn't you?" "Didn't you go to college, too?"

Driving in the car with some song I don't know on "Radio Disney" kind of blaring...

Josh: "Mommy, this song is AWESOME. Look, it is making my knees dance."

And sure enough, his knees were bee bopping to the music while in his car seat :)

Obsession

I am somewhat obsessed with "The Biggest Loser" that airs every Tuesday night (tonight) on NBC. I Tivo it and watch it the minute the kids go to bed. I can't just have it on and casually watch it while I do dishes or stuff on the computer, I feel like I have to be totally focused and watch every single minute of it.

Sometimes I'm tempted to gain 200 lbs. just so they might accept me on the show so I could learn more about exercise and eating better. I decided that probably wasn't the best thing :) since I'm already at a higher risk for strokes. I think I'll just wait until these two new books come out. I'm on the waiting list at the library.

I really wanted Brittany to win but since she's now off the show I really want Alli. It's time for a girl to win!! I have a feeling it will be Roger, though. It seems the men with the most weight to lose end up winning. Only 3 shows left!
