Cardinals Win!!

Taylor played baseball with a group of friends this spring. That is, until he broke his arm a few weeks into the season. After that he became the team manager and his coach was so good to let him lead the cheers they did each game. The Cardinals came in first place. They were an awesome team with awesome coaches. Way to go!

Pinewood Derby

Backtracking again... In May Taylor participated in his first Pinewood Derby. Wow! Never having brothers I didn't understand the significance of this. I thought you sand a car, add some wheels and paint and hope for the best. No Way. It's a Dad deal all the way. I learned quickly there is pride involved by the dads. If their son does well it is a direct reflection on them :) Luckily after lots of hard work, sanding and getting the proper weight, Taylor came in 2nd! We were all happy and proud. Way to go Taylor (and Parley)!!
p.s. Taylor's not missing an arm, this was a week after he broke it and it is safely tucked inside his shirt.

Taylor Turns 9

Taylor is now 9. I think he had a good birthday. It's always close to when school gets out so the excitement is in the air. He had a friend party at Nickelcade and then we went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and had cake and ice cream. The best part was no more broken arm!

The Big 4-0!!

I know we are all tired of looking at my Race for the Cure pictures. I will now play catch-up. :)
I turned the big 40 this year. It wasn't as bad as I thought. It does freak me out to think I'm on the path to 50! I don't feel old but I know that the gray hair and wrinkles are creeping up on me.
I had some awesome friends take me to lunch and to get pedicures. That night Parley and I went out to eat at Chili's (my favorite) and back to the house for cake and ice cream. Now I need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up!

Race for the Cure 2010

This year was another awesome year. We had a bigger group although many were missing from the group picture. I, unfortunately, had to walk this year since my foot was hurt but it was fun to do lots of walking and talking. The highlight was shopping, eating and running into my cancer-survivor friend Melissa who just became a new mommy. She's my inspiration for doing this every year!

Farm Field Trip

I've seriously been slacking in the blogging world. Not that I think so many people read it but someday I have this wonderful idea that I will get it made into a book. I'm not a scrapbooker and can't even seem to get pictures into photo albums, so this blog is my way of feeling like I'm keeping track of the kid's lives.

Josh went on his kindergarten field trip to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. I got to be a mom helper of 4 boys. Lots of running and playing and I think the highlight (for the kids) may have been the long bus ride. For some reason it's so exciting to ride without a seatbelt. I dished out lots of hand sanitizer but we all had a great time!

Joshy Washy

This is so late but Josh is now 6!! I think he had a great birthday week and he was pretty much on a constant sugar high. For his birthday dinner he picked Sweet Tomatoes (same as Lauren) and then for the third year in a row he had his friend party at McDonalds. It's so easy to just buy all the kids happy meals and let them play. Happy Birthday to our cutle little Joshy Washy!

Lovely Lauren

I'm a little behind. I didn't post anything for a while because there was absolutely nothing to post. January was long and cold and borring! We survived February and now it's March. Spring is right around the corner! I'm hoping that this El Nino mild winter will bring a long, hot summer :)

Last week was Lovely Lauren's birthday. I can't even believe she is now ELEVEN!! Where does the time go? We had a good birthday "week." On her birthday we went to parent teacher conferences (what kid doesn't love that?!) and then went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. A few days later it was the friend party. We decided to do a photo scavenger hunt at the mall. I think it was a big hit!

Happy Birthday Lauren! We love you!!

Money Well Spent

A little over 17 months ago Lauren got her braces on. It was a much needed thing as you can tell by the before picture. Unfortunatley Parley and I both needed braces (gratefully we both got them), so our kids don't stand a chance. We found a great orthodontist who just completed "phase 1." She now has to wear retainers at night until all of her baby teeth come out and the permanent ones come in. Then we will start the more expensive "phase 2." Thank goodness for braces!!

Organize with Jane

"My good friend Jane" (that's what my mom always says when she describes her friends) is an organizing queen. She has even started her own blog (a few months ago) with organizing tips and tricks. Every year this is one of my new year's resolutions. Every year I fall short. This is my year!! Jane even has checklists that you can print out. Happy organizing.

p.s. Jane, hope you don't mind that I shared :)

Teddy Bear Town

I need to do a little backtracking. On the night we went downtown to see the lights we stopped by Teddy Bear Town first. The kids loved it, especially Lauren. It was in the Grand America hotel up in one of the suites on the 23rd floor. It had an amazing view of the city and had tons and tons of bears. The one of Lauren is for Paige since Panda's are her favorite :)
