More of Taylor's B-Day

For dinner Taylor chose to go to Wingers. He got free dessert since it was his birthday. I think Parley and I ate most of it :) Then we went home for cake and presents. One of his presents was Mario Cart for the Wii. We let him stay up a little late and play it. He says he feels like he is 7 :)

Happy Birthday Taylor!

Today out little Taylor is turning 7!! Where does the time go? I was thinking about it in the shower this morning (don't you always do your best thinking in the shower?), anyway, I found myself, unconsciously, humming "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof. He's excited to be 7 and can't wait to open his presents tonight. We'll have more pictures soon. He's so fun to have in the family and he is the best at sharing and has a really sensitive heart. We love Taylor!!

My Birthday Present?

Last week was my big 38th birthday. Only 2 more years till the big 40!! Yikes! For my birthday i got a Wii fit. Taylor thought I would like it (need it). It's been fun, although, I've only played it once. I can't get Taylor and Lauren off it. It's pretty cool. It gives you points and keeps track of how many minutes you work out. The second picture is Taylor doing Yoga. It made him hot and sweaty. As you can see from all the ribs you can count, he doesn't really need to be working out :) The second picture is Taylor and Parley "running." :)

Where's the Old Guy?

Today I was getting Josh dressed and the "Price is Right" was on the TV. Josh looked up at the t.v. and this is the conversation I had with a 4-year-old....

Josh: Mommy, what happened to that old guy on that show?

Me: He got old and decided he wanted to rest at home.

Josh: Why they have that new guy on dere?

Me: He wanted to be the new guy on the show.

Josh: I don't like that new guy. He's not good. I want the old guy to be back. You should tell them I want the old guy back.

How does Josh even know all this?

Are You Going to Put That On the Blog?

This is a question that my kids ask me pretty much every time I take their picture. Sometime I take a picture specifically to put on the blog, but other times, it's just for posterity. I'm never quite sure how to answer the question. Especially if Josh asks. There are times when he excitedly asks if I'm going to put it on the blog but then there are other times when he adamantly states that he does not want his picture on the blog.

The picture of Taylor with crazy hair was from "crazy hair" day at school. He specifically asked me to put the picture on the blog. The one of Josh is his black eye/cheek. He was about to go in to Annie's house, was kind of excited and tripped and smacked his cheek right into her park bench on the porch. I knew his cheek bone would bruise but I was surprised it spread all the way up to his eye. He's a tough kid though. Of course he wouldn't let us put any ice on it :)

Race For the Cure

I did it!! I'm not a runner and really never had a desire to be a runner, but I ran my first 5k today. It was pretty cool. Obviously the "Race for the Cure" is a great cause and it was very inspiring. Out of the 18,000+ people that were there I actually ran into a friend who beat breast cancer at the age of 24!! Anyway, my good friend Emily, who is a runner, ran with me and made me run faster than I was used to. I kind of psyched myself out thinking that it was going to be so hard and I was going to have to run so slow, but it wasn't too bad. The best part was going to lunch after and shopping with the girls. Thanks Ann, Chelle and Emily.

Bragging on Taylor

Sorry for the bragging here.... Taylor got his Panther Pride award this week. Pretty much every kids get's it at one point throughout the year. The second picture is the picture Taylor painted and had on display for the week.
Yesterday Taylor made 3 of their team's 5 goals. He was really getting into it. Only 2 games left until fall. Way to go Taylor!!

Monster Concert

Lauren had her orchestra concert or "Monster Concert" as they called it. It was Tuesday night with the other Elementary School Orchestra classes from around the area. They did a great job. She really likes playing the violin. The second picture is how Josh spent most of the concert. Gotta love little brothers and their honesty.
