Where did 2008 go? Did I do all that I had planned to do in 2008? That would be a big, fat NO! I saw an article that said you could/should take five things that you didn't get to do last year and do them this year. Not big resolution type things, just little things like see a classic movie that you've never seen or go out to dinner at a new restaurant. I'm all for that. Each year I have these grand idea of all the New Year's resolutions I am going to set and then get frustrated with myself when I quickly fall off the band wagon. Don't get me wrong, goal setting is good and productive, I just think I need to be a little easier on myself and take baby steps to get to a bigger goal.
Last night at Annie's house (my aunt) we had dinner and she had all of us go around and say just ONE thing that we loved about last year. I really had two. One is that Josh is going to preschool 3 days a week. That seems kind of petty and I don't mean it to be. It's just that after 9 years of being a mother and being "on" 24/7 it's nice to have a few hours where I am the one who gets to decide what I want to do and then I can just do it. The other thing I loved about last year was going to Sunriver, Oregon with all my family on my mom's side. It's just so nice to "hang-out" and not to do anything or answer the phone or have anywhere that you have to be. It's so nice to be around people who love you "no matter what." I hope to have many more happy moments in 2009!!

My new year's resolutions are to be NICER, keep my house cleaner, "enjoy the journey" more, and follow a strict budget. Sounds pretty good, right?
I'm with you on the preschool thing. LOVE it.
