Pinewood Derby 2012

Parley survived another Pinewood Derby.  The boys had a good time designing and paining them.  The stressful part is always getting the weight just right.  Josh must have gotten his just right because he won the whole thing!!  There were many that thought it was the good paint job that did it :)  Taylor also did a great job and came in 5th overall.  Good job boys (all three of them).

It's great to be 8!

Josh had a great birthday even though it was on Sunday :)  Saturday we went to see The Lorax and out to Sweet Tomatoes.  A few days (maybe weeks) later he invited Chaz and Dru to go to Planet Play for a pizza buffet, video games and mini-golf.  We love Joshy and his (mostly) happy attitude!

Happy 13th Birthday Lauren!

Lauren is now a teenager.  How did that happen?!  She says she had a good birthday.  A lot of it was spent walking around the mall and then to Training Table for dinner.  I don't know why I didn't take any pictures of that.  Then it was back to the house for cake and presents.  We love you Lauren!

Zions Natl. Park Feb. 2012

While in St. George visiting our friends, the Bows, we decided to take a day trip to Zions.  It was sunny and warm the day before but a cold front came in that night and left a dusting of snow and cooler temps.  It was still fun and we bundled up and did some easy hiking.  It was so beautiful and fun!

Taylor is always complaining that we never go anywhere.  He's kind of right.  It seems like such a big production to get the dog taken care of and other duties covered.  We decided to make a quick trip to St. George over Presidents Weekend to visit our friends the Bows.  They were great hosts and since we were ignorant to all the fun stuff to do down there they were awesome tour guides.  They took us to "Fat Man's Crack."  Only the kids did that one.  They had a great time and did it over and over.  We got some great pictures and there are more to come.

School Stuff

February was a busy school month. Taylor had his 5th grade science project that he and his two friends worked really hard on. It's hard to tell from the picture but they built a contraption that would chance salt water into fresh water. I think it was the coolest thing at the Science Fair!

Josh had his report on Antarctica. He did a great job and got up there in front of the class to talk about it and answer questions. Gone is the shy kid from just two years ago who would have dropped dead before he got up in front of anyone.

Zoey graduated from puppy school. She did great and Lauren has her trained well. She still will jump on you if you come to our door but we're working on it. It was a fun family activity to go to puppy school each week.

Christmas Day 2011

We didn't get too many pictures on Christmas Day. I guess we were having too much fun. We got up early, opened presents then went to church. Then we headed down to Grandma and Grandpa Brodine's to hang out and eat until we couldn't eat any more. Santa was good to us this year :)
