Zions Natl. Park Feb. 2012

While in St. George visiting our friends, the Bows, we decided to take a day trip to Zions.  It was sunny and warm the day before but a cold front came in that night and left a dusting of snow and cooler temps.  It was still fun and we bundled up and did some easy hiking.  It was so beautiful and fun!

Taylor is always complaining that we never go anywhere.  He's kind of right.  It seems like such a big production to get the dog taken care of and other duties covered.  We decided to make a quick trip to St. George over Presidents Weekend to visit our friends the Bows.  They were great hosts and since we were ignorant to all the fun stuff to do down there they were awesome tour guides.  They took us to "Fat Man's Crack."  Only the kids did that one.  They had a great time and did it over and over.  We got some great pictures and there are more to come.

School Stuff

February was a busy school month. Taylor had his 5th grade science project that he and his two friends worked really hard on. It's hard to tell from the picture but they built a contraption that would chance salt water into fresh water. I think it was the coolest thing at the Science Fair!

Josh had his report on Antarctica. He did a great job and got up there in front of the class to talk about it and answer questions. Gone is the shy kid from just two years ago who would have dropped dead before he got up in front of anyone.

Zoey graduated from puppy school. She did great and Lauren has her trained well. She still will jump on you if you come to our door but we're working on it. It was a fun family activity to go to puppy school each week.

Christmas Day 2011

We didn't get too many pictures on Christmas Day. I guess we were having too much fun. We got up early, opened presents then went to church. Then we headed down to Grandma and Grandpa Brodine's to hang out and eat until we couldn't eat any more. Santa was good to us this year :)

Christmas Eve in Bountiful 2011

We did our traidional trip to Bountiful for Christmas Eve. We have such a fun time hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa and cousins. We played board games and ate plenty! It's not Christmas Eve if you don't get jammies :)

Temple Square Lights 2011

This year we went with our friends, The Johnsons, downtown to see the lights. We started at The Grand America again and made our way to Temple Square. It was cold with no snow but fun and festive.

Santa

As you can see, Josh didn't appreciate talking with the "real" Santa. He was very upset that we made him be in the family picture. Just like old times. I thought that by 7 years-old he would be over it. Oh well... As you can also see, he had no problem with the plastic one downtown in the Little America hotel. Go figure.
