It's Great to be Eight

I can't believe my little baby is now 8! Time flies when you've got such a good kid. Happy birthday to the sweetest, most compassionate, most loving eight-year-old I know. We love you Taylor!!

Last Ever

Josh just had his last day of preschool. I guess he's now officially a kindergartener! Time flies. He's actually excited. I just hope that excitement will last through the summer and carry over to the first day of school. Keep your fingers crossed!

This is his teacher, Miss Judie. She was also Lauren and Taylor's preschool teacher. Josh actually had his first sleepover at her house when he was just 6 weeks old and was not sleeping or eating well. She was a lifesaver and kept him overnight so I could get at least one full night of sleep. I will forever be grateful to her for that.

I can't believe we are done with preschool forever. It will be nice to have "free" public school and not be writing out the preschool checks every month :)

p.s. This is his friend, Hayley. They are quite the buddies. In the other picture with all the kids he is standing next to his other friend, Matthew. They have fun playdates that we need to keep up on.

Race for the Cure 2009

Chelle, Me, Melissa and Emily

Arika, Me, Chelle, Jodi, Emily, Diane and Ann

On Saturday a bunch of us went down and did the Race for the Cure 5k (3.1 miles). It was so fun and inspiring. They said there were over 19,000 people there and I believe it. Luckily Emily, Erica and I pushed our way to the front of the starting line so we didn't have to run with the herd. It's an easy route, with no hills so it was my kind of race. I had to keep up with Emily and Arika who are 10 years younger than me (literally). Unfortunatley they dusted me the last half-mile but I only finished 40 seconds behind them. I finished in just over 27 minutes. I shaved 2 minutes off my time from last year. Not too bad for an old lady :)

I ran for my cute friend Melissa. She moved into our neighborhood and not soon after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 24! She totally beat it and is now so healthy and happy. It's so amazing to be down there and see all the suriviors in their pink shirts!

Sweets Candy Factory

When Gwen was in town we decided to all take the kids to the candy factory. There were ELEVEN kids in all. It was fun to get samples and then I think we all spent money in the outlet store buying MORE candy, as if we hadn't eaten enough with Easter being the weekend before. We all had a great time and looked adorable in our stylish hairnets :)
