Feed the Hungry

I was reading a magazine and came accross this article about "Free Rice." Many of you may have already heard of it, but I thought it was pretty cool.

The concept is that the site provides you with a word and asks you to choose the definition. The more words you define correctly, the more challenging it becomes. For every word you get right, FreeRice donates 20 grains of rice through the United Nations World Food Program. Since they started doing this in October of 2007, they have donated nearly 30 billion grains of rice. Give it a try...

That's addictive. I donated 3640 but I need to get to bed. Fun stuff.

How many pounds is that? It sounds like a lot, but maybe it's only 10 lbs! It's a good thing no matter what, though.

You're right it is addictive, but so is eating I guess. I quit at 6,000. In the FAQ's it said 400 grains is a bowl of rice, I think. This is a fun game and the vocabulary building would be a good thing for kids. Does it adjust the difficulty level for kids if they don't know the harder words?
