Stop the Insanity!

I feel this is a reflection on what kind of mother I am or am not. This is a picture of Josh's "pluggy." He is now 3 years and 3 1/2 months old and he can not give up his pluggy. More importantly I can't bear to go through the process of him giving it up. Lauren "bought" a toy at toys-r-us with her pluggy and Taylor "forgot" it at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They were both relatively easy. Josh is the most strong willed little boy I've seen in a long time. I know the picture is blurry but you can see that the end of it is completely bitten off. He still LOVES it and can't leave home without it. I know I've got to bite the bullet, but aye yae yae, give me strength!

I've probably told you this...
with Eliza and Ian I would snip off about a quarter inch every day. Eliza threw hers away that first snip. Ian would still hold it between his teeth, even when it was just a stub. When there was nothing left he would just hold it. Soon he started forgetting about it, and I slowly threw them away. Good Luck!

Just got home in checked the blog. Laughed myself off the stool when I saw the new header! That's the picture I have of trying to take away his pluggy. Do you remember that we tied Gwen's on a very short string so she could only have it in bed? She must have been Josh's age, too. It will happen. Don't stress.

Mom says: That was actually me, not Dad. Don't know how that happened.
